SRK bids on Spanish Show Money Heist’s Movie Adaptation

by Saba Siddiqui
Last night, had I wished a million bucks for myself, chances were I could have got a bag full of currency bills in the morning. But destiny had new plans and I sincerely wished Professor’s role be played by Shah Rukh khan in an Indian adaptation of the Spanish Show Money Heist. Guess what, the very next day the news splashes revealed that SRK has bought the rights of the blockbuster show and the team is already working on the script. This is how God makes your wishes come true… I wonder if I should be ecstatic which I am or should I regret the opportunity of having wished for something more personally gratifying!
Anyway, the insider say that SRK is only producing and not acting in the film as of now, I feel I will be heartbroken if the role of the soothingly scheming and manipulating Professor is dished out to any other actor but Shah Rukh Khan. The profile, the character, the many shades, it’s a role tailor made for the king himself. It will be a criminal injustice to cast someone else for the role.
Me and my husband had a long chat last night after binge watching the show about placements for all the characters if they ever come to play a part in the encapsulated 2-3 hour movie version. You can have a sneak peak at our predictions for the cast.
Zoom in-
There is no better bet than SRK for Professor, period. With him in mind, Kajol as Agent Raquel is the wisest choice I believe, though I would swap her with Tabu too, if so it turns out.

Alia Bhatt has it all to play the unruly and reckless Tokyo, while Tiger Shroff has the boyish charm to play the role of Rio, I wonder if the two will look as smashing together as in my head. Denver should be played by Varun Dhawan or may be Shahid Kapoor, but the guy seems far fetched especially after the humongous success of Kabir Singh. We all know Kangana won’t make the cut for Monica Gaztambide, plus Taapsee Pannu is a smarter choice any day. And the cunning and manipulative Arturo best fits Govinda like a glove, there is not even a second thought about it. Though initially I zeroed on Pankaj Tripathi for this role, but na….! A man sandwiched between two women, Govinda knows how to ooze the serpentine vibes of the character. Radhika Apte will nail the role of Nairobi. Alberto, Raquels estranged husband is for Sameer Soni. Alison Parker's role should be handed to Kiara Advani. Chief Peitro as Anupam Kher and Raquel’s accomplice Angel can be Ram Kapoor. Tisca Chopra as the guardian teacher of the student hostages is a fine choice too. Boman Irani’s should be the face of the father figure Moscow in the movie adaptation.. also, he can bring in a little Boman-ness in the role too. Then comes the lady inspector Sierra which should be taken up by... Vidya Balan or Rani Mukharjee, You can have Sonu Sood for Antonianza.
I have missed out a few characters fully aware that not all of them will make it to the movie version. Plus let the casting director do his/her job too!
What do you have to say to our late night reveries.. let me know in the comment section.., do you have any other options… let me know that too… variation is the spice of life!

P.S.
My sister says the last time SRK made a movie on a heist Happy New Year was the result. If so is to expect now, I take back my enthusiasm. Abort the mission, I repeat, mission aborted!!!
